About Jean-François Lepage
The work of Jean-François Lepage, at the intersection of painting, cinema and contemporary photography, offers a different perspective on the world of fashion. In his photos, Lepage has nude compositions, immersed in a lunar space or a large empty house. Motionless figures, suspended in space and time. After taking Lepage dismantles the body photographed, deconstructs the photo, cut the image to reconstruct multiplied. A complex identity emerges suddenly, causing conflicting impressions, between seduction and repulsion, sophistication or cruelty. Through this creative process, the artist abolished the ephemeral nature of instant photographic and places his reconstructed image in a parallel dimension, a state of consciousness that can express fantasies of each.
